Greene downed by top MAC teams at home
GUILFORD – In five of the seven matches so far this season, Bainbridge-Guilford has scored very consistently as the team has scored in the 266 to 268 range. On Tuesday, the team recorded a 267 to improve to 5-2 as the Bobcats defeated the Oxford Blackhawks at Sundown Golf Course.
The nine-hole, par 34 course saw B-G’s Thomas Lord take the top medalist honors as he shot a 43 for the match. Teammate Caleb Presley finished five strokes behind the leader.
Oxford’s Nick Cirello carded a 50 for the round, coming in as the Blackhawks top golfer once again. William Kelsey ended the day with a 54 and Matt Roach scored just three strokes higher than Kelsey with a 57.
Christian Paden and Kyle Benjamin each scored a 59 to round out Oxford’s top five on Tuesday’s scorecard.
Bainbridge-Guilford’s Ryan McCarthy turned in a 57 for the nine holes while teammates Mar Mohamed and Jon England shot a 59 and 60 respectively.
The Bobcats will take on the home course again Thursday when they face Greene. Oxford hosts Sidney Wednesday at Blue Stone Golf Course. Both matches will tee off at 4:30 p.m.
