OXFORD – Freshman Hailey Flurey of the Blackhawks recorded her first varsity career hat trick Thursday afternoon as the host Oxford team defeated Midstate Athletic Conference foe Sidney 3-0.
Her first goal was the first tally of the contest as just 14 minutes ticked off the clock. Flurey took a pass from Emily Barrows and rifled the ball into the back of the net for her team’s 1-0 advantage.
With 12:34 left in the first half, Flurey recorded her second goal and teammate Ellie Ryan put a Kaylin Tefft corner past the Sidney keeper less than a minute later to go up 3-0.
With 20 minutes remaining in the game, Flurey once again beat the Warriors goalie to finish with her hat trick.
