NORWICH – Hot flashes. Night sweats. Weight gain. The very mention of these common symptoms of menopause can strike fear into the hearts of women (and men!) alike. But according to one local gynecologist, not all women can expect to experience these symptoms equally.
“Menopause affects every woman differently. In fact, about half of women never suffer these symptoms at all,” explained Dr. Phyllis Sheriff-White of UHS Women’s Health Center in Norwich. “Of course, all women can expect to experience some physiological changes and changes in appearance as they approach menopause.”
White will speak on the topic on Tuesday at Bohemian Moon, 103 W. Main Street in Norwich. The program is part of UHS Chenango Memorial’s 2019 Women’s Health Series, held monthly at the Norwich restaurant.
Tuesday’s event will begin at 6p.m. with an optional $15 buffet and cash bar. The presentation and discussion will follow at 7 p.m.
