OTSELIC – Otselic Valley’s goalie Lexi Hazzard was able to make an big save, stopping a penalty kick against Madison Saturday night but it wasn’t enough as the visiting team claimed a 3-0 win over the host Lady Vikings.
Hazzard added another eight saves in the first half and second half keeper Cassidy Will helped keep the game within reach, stopping another six shots but it was two goals by Madison in the first half and an insurance goal in the second half that aiding in the road win.
“Throughout the game the girls demonstrated how to keep possession of the ball through communication and team work,” said OV head coach Lori Wood. “We also flaunted some of our skills, pulling off a few moves and winning the ball in the air.
“There’s nothing more fulfilling as a coach than to see what these girls can do when they take risks. This is how you grow and developed as a player. It it so exciting and fun to watch, especially when it works out.”
Otselic Valley was only able to get one shot on goal but Wood noted her team was able to hold Madison from scoring more than the three did as the visiting team fired off 15 attempts in the contest.
Madison’s goals were scored by Myah Hauck and Zoey Brouillette in the first 45 minutes of play while Lacie Head added one in the second.
