BINGHAMTON – Norwich tennis nearly took two points away from the Chenango Forks Blue Devils on Monday as both their fourth singles player and first double teams entered a third-set tiebreaker.

However, the Lady Tornado fell in both and Forks earned the 7-0 win over the visiting team from Norwich.

Erica Gage, the Purple Tornado’s No. 4 singles player, lost the first set 6-4 but fought back in the second to win 6-2 and force the bonus set of tennis. In the tiebreaker, her opponent Bella Rullo came out firing to take the 10-3 win and the point from the battling Gage.

First double partners Brooke Diehl and Chloe Glanville of Norwich nearly played their match against Chenango Forks Sierra Allen and Emily Fisher as the singles teammate, taking the second set after falling 6-3 in the first.
