SOUTH NEW BERLIN – A South New Berlin woman received a free handicap accessibility ramp on Saturday after a non-profit dedicated to helping keep families in their homes built

The Impact Project arrived at the home at 9 a.m. on Saturday and in approximately three hours built homeowner Marie Lamphere a brand new ramp.

“Every day when I try to get into my home I have to leave my walker at the bottom of my stairs, grab onto the railing, and try to pull myself up,” said Lamphere. “What The Impact Project is doing is amazing, I feel so blessed to have them here.”

She said knowing that The Impact Project is no longer accepting applications for the year, and that she was chosen as one of the few to help is an incredible feeling.

“In the winter time things were really hard,” she added. “I can’t wait to be able to get in and out of my house without a hassle.”
