HERBURNE – The Marauders raced out to a quick 2-0 lead within the first 10 minutes of play before ultimately securing the second win of the week with a 4-1 final over host Mount Markham Thursday night.

S-E’s Brogan Winton started the scoring when he collected a rebound after the initial save by the Mustangs’ Alex Arkema, tapping the ball into the wide open right side of the goal.

Winton then delivered a pass from the wing to a wide open Nathan Morgan who was waiting at the top corner of the 18. Morgan sent a curling shot that went past Arkema at the far post for the 2-0 lead.

With 10 minutes remaining in the first half, Winton gave the Marauders a 3-0 advantage with another rebound that he gathered and pushed a low ball into the net.

Sherburne-Earville picked up where they left off in the first half as the Winton-Morgan connection tallied the fourth and final goal for the visiting team.

Following a corner kick by Mount Markham, the Mustangs’ Jacob McKenzie recorded the team’s only goal of the match after scoring the loose ball during the scramble in the box. However, John Oley of S-E turned away all other shot attempts in the second half, giving the Marauders a three goal win.
