S-E falls to Indians on back-to-back nights
NEW BERLIN – In a wild back-and-forth game, the Unadilla Valley Storm and the Delhi Bulldogs ended a rainy senior night at a 4-4 tie Wednesday night. Both teams elected to not play overtime due to the weather conditions.
The Storm went on top first when Cameron Osborne converted an indirect kick from the 18 yard box. After the ball was nudged by Dylan Nichols, Osborne fired it past Delhi’s Ben Blocker – goalie for the Bulldogs – to give his team the 1-0 lead early.
Delhi answered in the first half as Christian Imperi netted the tying goal, setting up the second half to be an exciting 45 minutes of play.
During the intermission, UV’s head coach Ryan Houck honored the seven Storm seniors – Dylan Nichols, Danny Anderson, Mark Hine, Skot Lindholm, Caleb Parker, Glenn Ramsaran, and Shawn Contreras – for their years with the boys’ soccer program as many hours of hard work have been put forth by the players.
Following the break, Delhi’s Paul Vickers started his hat trick journey, scoring five minutes into the second to give the Bulldogs the 2-1 advantage.
Four minutes later, Nichols said ‘not so fast’ and responded by scoring on a free kick to knot it back up at 2-2.
The Storm then took the lead back as Owen Hill found Josh Meade in a 2-on-1 situation with 20 minutes remaining in the game.
