OV downed by Lady Lions
SHERBURNE – Playing the final two games of their regular season at home on back-to-back days, the Sherburne-Earlville Lady Marauders tied Adirondack 2-2 Wednesday before falling to Clinton Thursday 3-0.
In Wednesday’s tie against the Wildcats, Adirondack school from Booneville took a 2-0 lead in the first half as Hannah Miller and Emma Hennessey both found the back of the net after receiving assists from their teammates.
Down by two as the second half started, the Lady Marauders turned up the offensive pressure as they did not want to go down that easy.
Clawing the way out of the two goal deficit, Alex Kober and Tessa Cole scored for the home team in the second to tie the game at 2-2.
After the 90 minutes of play, the teams ended the game without playing extra minutes for overtime.
Cole’s late game goal was her 20th tallied for the season, leading the team in scoring for 2019.
Sherburne-Earlville then played against Center State Conference and Division-I leader, the Clinton Warriors on Thursday for the season finale for the home team. The Marauders fell by a score of 3-0, ending their season with a record of 4-9-2.
