OXFORD – In one of the final Midstate Athletic Conference round-robin matches left to play, Oxford defeated Delhi 3-1 Monday.
With the stand-out play from Oxford’s Mallory Olsen-Nichols, the Blackhawks took wins in games one, two and close-out game four. Oxford won 25-19, 25-16 and 25-14 while the visiting Bulldogs snagged set three 25-22 to force a fourth.
Olsen-Nichols delivered 13 assists, leading to teammates Madalyn Barrows, Maddy Howe, Lilie Horton and Daysha Simpson knocking home kill points. The Blackhawks’ sophomore also added four aces and seven kills of her own in the match victory.
Oxford’s lineup combined for 15 aces and 31 kills in the match. Karissa Maricle paced the team in the aces stat column – finishing the match with seven – while Howe had a team-high nine kills for the Blackhawks.
