TRUMANSBURG – After 100 minutes of play couldn’t determine a winner between the Greene Trojans and the Trumansburg Blue Raiders, the two teams sent five of their best shooters and the goalkeepers to the end line for a penalty kick shoot out.

The Blue Raiders’ goalie Richard Prosser turned away three of the four shots – including one with his legs on the second shot attempt – taken by the Trojans’ players while his teammates were able to put four into the back of the net, securing a spot into the Section IV Class C championship game Wednesday.

Scoring the lone penalty kick for Greene was Alec Frair, still giving his team hope at the moment. However, the hopes were dashed as the fourth penalty kick went into the goal.

Trumansburg earned the first lead in the game when Will Pritchard sent a through ball to teammate Conor Baird, who then turned and fired a shot past the posts.

Greene, however, said not so fast as just three minutes later, Trenton Rapp tallied one for the Trojans and tied the game at 1-1.
