Norwich boys sweep Windsor, girls fall by 4-1
GREENE – Combing forces for the 2019-2020 season, Oxford and Greene claimed a 3-1 win on the lanes for the boys side of the match and tied Sidney 2-2 in the girls contest.
Oxford/Greene’s Erin Howard finished the match as the girls top bowler with a three game tally of 634 pins, bowling game highs in both game one (209) and game two (242). The host team captured the game win behind Howard’s score in game one but fell in game two to Sidney by 30 pins.
The Oxford/Greene senior bowled a third game score of 183 and her teammate’s Halia Tallett and Kayli Willes helped Oxford pick up the second point of the match with their 176 and 168 games.
The visiting Warriors captured the second point for their team by edging out Oxford/Greene by a single pin in the three game total, winning 2284-2283.
Tallet ended the contest with a three game total of 469 while Willes finished with a 439. Mikayla Trost totaled 364 while Lilac Shaffer and Brianna Fowlston split the three games. Shaffer bowled the first two for a total of 239 while Fowlston stepped on the lanes for the final game and rolled a 137.
The Oxford/Greene boys secured a close win by five pins as they stole the final point of the match to avoid the tie.
