Greene/Oxford claim MAC wins in both boys’ and girls’ matches
SIDNEY – The Storm of Unadilla Valley took on host Sidney at the lanes on Wednesday. The Lady Storm captured a 3-1 win over the home Warriors while the Sidney boys topped UV 3-1.
Gracie Oglesby of the Storm rolled a three-game total of 576, bowling a game two score of 206 – the highest single game score of the girls’ match. Oglesby also bowled a 185 in both the first and third games for her match-high series tally.
Her colleague Brynn Grant ended the day with a 563 series, rolling a 183, a 192 and 188 for the day while teammate Paige Catena scored a 525, coming away with a 191 for the middle game.
Unadilla Valley fell in the first game of the match to the host team as Sidney’s Maegan Mazzarello led her team to the win with a 194. Kori Scott’s 184 and Allison Babcock’s 187 aided in the win. However, paced by Oglesby’s 206 in game two and Grant’s 188 in game three, UV came away with the two wins and added the pin total win as they topped the Warriors by 168.
The Storm boys used Brandon Kneale’s 230, Colin Grant’s 217 and Owen Hill’s 201 to capture game three of the match 972-851, but Sidney’s 924 and 1048 in the first two games topped the visitors. The Warriors also won the pin total point by outscoring UV 2823-2780.
