NORWICH – The Purple Tornado wrestlers came away with two wins on the mat in a double header Thursday night. Norwich topped divisional opponent Susquehanna Valley 48-24 in the first dual meet of the night before taking down BGAH in a highly anticipated non-league match 31-30.

The Tornado beat the Sabers with six pins in the seven bouts wrestled in the meet.

Sus Valley started off with two forfeit wins but Norwich quickly erased the 12 point deficit with Tyler Rice and Max Morris each earning pinfall victories.

Rice needed just 26 seconds to defeat Brian Titus of SV while Morris pinned Mark Moelder at the 4:42 mark of the match.

The Sabers once again took a lead with a forfeit at 106 points but with a forfeit being awarded to Dante Geislinger at 120 pounds, the match was tied at 18-18.

The Tornado then took the lead for good when Andrew Brown earned a win 27 seconds in the first period of the 132 pound bout and teammate Nate Murphy pinned his opponent in the next match at 2:50.

Ashton Jenkins of Norwich earned a forfeit at 152 pounds before both Joey Marvin and Mikey Squires won by pins in the first period.
