NORWICH – Monday, the Chenango SPCA announced a new donor-driven fund called the Safe Haven Fund for Animals, which is making adoption completely free.

According to the CSPCA this will include all costs associated with an adoption, such as spaying and neutering, vaccines, and the adoption fee. Adoption applications, references and a complete review are still required for all adoptions.

“We had a donor come forward with a proposal to make adoptions totally free. They’re an anonymous donor. They would take care of spaying and neutering, vaccines, anything to do with the animal before it's adopted. That will make it free to the public. This will be a big thing, and will hopefully help us get more animals in homes,” said Executive Director Annette Clarke.
