S-E falls in second half to Holland Patent
BAINBRIDGE – Playing back-to-back games against Southern Tier Athletic Conference teams, the Bobcats of Bainbridge-Guilford nearly took one of the two but were downed in both contests in last week’s action.
First, B-G hosted the Black Knights of Windsor on Thursday, where the Bobcats fell by a final of 55-46.
Bainbridge-Guilford held a 28-20 lead at the half as the balanced scoring of seven different players pushed the home team to the advantage. The Bobcats were led by Garrett Ives seven points over the first two quarters whole Parker Finch tallied six and Trent Thornton added five.
Out of the intermission, however, B-G’s offense slowed down and Windsor’s picked up as the Black Knights went on a 21-9 run in the third quarter. The Windsor spurt in the stanza –paced by Ethan Reed’s 10 points – came from eight offensive rebounds that saw four baskets scored as a result of the Knights cleaning up the glass.
The Windsor rebounding led to a four point margin with just one quarter remaining in the contest.
In the fourth, the Bobcats were once again held to just nine points while the Black Knights tallied 14 in the quarter to take the victory.
