Norwich overpowers Forks in first quarter; S-E downed last two games
BAINBRIDGE – The Lady Bobcats got back to their winning way after taking down neighbor Afton Friday night 64-35, picking up a Midstate Athletic Conference victory over the Lady Crimson Knights.
Bainbridge-Guilford jumped out to a 17-4 lead as five of their six players scored in the opening quarter. Celeste Baldwin, who led all scorers in the contest with 25 points, tallied seven in the first while teammate Taylor Parsons added six points.
Afton found an offensive rhythm in the second quarter, putting 13 as a team on the board. During the stanza, Liv Harris-Morris and Sophie Gore combined for all the team’s points as Harris-Morris recorded eight of the points.
Harris-Morris ended the night with 15 points, a team-best for the Crimson Knights squad. Gore added nine in the loss.
As the game went on, all B-G players registered points in the game as the scoring for the visiting team was evenly balanced throughout. The Bobcats racked up 13 assists as a team.
Joining Baldwin in the double figures were Macie Leizear with 18 points and Parsons, who finished with 10.
Bainbridge-Guilford travels to Harpursville on Tuesday for another conference matchup. Game time is scheduled for a 7:15 p.m. start time.
