NORWICH – On January 18, mother-daughter duo Barb and Kaitlin Korver took about 500 children's books and distributed them to businesses in the Norwich area.

Each business received a bin filled with bags of books, and a sign that reads, “Please borrow a book bag for your child to enjoy while you wait.”

The bins were brought to 10 local businesses including Nina's Pizzeria, 41 North Salon, and Service Pharmacy.

Kaitlin Korver has always been looking for ways to get books into the hands of kids. She began by using books as a reward for kids in her summer reading class. With the help of her father, she established the Little Free Libraries in Oxford. The Little Free Libraries they establish are actually stand-alone containers with books in them placed in areas around the Village of Oxford. Resident can barrow the books for free and drop them off when they are done.

After receiving an overwhelming positive response to a request for children books on social media, Kaitlin formed a plan to get the books out to the public.
