GREENE – The Impact Project is now accepting need-based applications for Chenango County residents who require housing assistance including a new roof or handicap accessible ramps.

The Impact Project is a nonprofit based in Chenango County that has also assisted homeowners in Steuben, Tioga, Broome, and Otsego County.

The organization’s mission is to help low-income families maintain and increase equity in their homes and stabilize their housing situation through repair and rehabilitation projects. The Impact Project’s primary target population is homeowners with income at or below the Federal Poverty Guidelines whose homes are in need of major repairs or handicapped accessibility.

According to The Impact Project Founder Jim Willard III, from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. on Wednesdays, the Greene office located at 4 Clinton Street will be accepting applications.
