NORWICH – According to New York State Electric and Gas (NYSEG) representatives, more customers will be affected by the company’s scheduled power outage Thursday afternoon than originally announced.
According to NYSEG Manager of Regional Operations Tom Ryan, representatives who previously stated that a second round of robocalls would inform individuals of an impending power outage were incorrect.
Ryan also said the previous estimate of 300 people impacted was incorrect and that approximately 445 people would be without power for several hours today.
The planned power outage will take place from about 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. today, in the area of State Highway 23 along Tanner Hill in the Town of Norwich.
Ryan said NYSEG’s is working to transfer power and fuse lines to the recently constructed solar power plant in the Town of Norwich.
