NORWICH – The Norwich Family YMCA is offering its Fun Club for children on days when Norwich, Oxford, and Greene schools are closed later this month.

According to Norwich Family YMCA Youth Development Director, Elaine Genute, the program will run February 17th to the 21st from 6:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. right at the Norwich YMCA’s facility. The Fun Club is for children from pre-kindergarten to sixth grade.

The program allows parents to send their children to a safe and fun childcare facility during times when school isn’t in session, and requires that children bring a lunch, swim suit, and towel for daily swimming. She added that parents must pre-register for the Fun Club program by having a current application on file. The YMCA After School Programs are also available for areas including Norwich, Oxford, and Greene.

“The Fun Club program is an exciting way for the children to spend their days off from school, and special areas at the YMCA are accessible to us, including the Y pool, Kids’ Gym, bounce house and rock wall,” said Genute. “In addition to what we’d normally offer, this year we’re taking a look at our outreach opportunities as well.”
