NORWICH – Norwich’s Saint Baldrick’s childhood cancer fundraisers met their combined goal of over $30,000 on Saturday, even though event organizers closed off the event to the general public due to concerns of the coronavirus.
According to Norwich Saint Baldrick’s Event Organizer A. Wesley Jones, the event raised just over $30,000, meeting the event’s goal. Jones said with many St. Baldrick’s events being canceled around the world, the need for donations is greater now more than ever.
“We made our goal, but we did hope to have a few thousand more so we’re planning to host a non-shaving fundraising event in the summer to help make up that difference,” said Jones. “We’re pleased that we were able to make our goal, but having to close the event to the public impacted our fundraising efforts.”
