GREENE – With bowling season winding down, the end-of-year house tournaments began at Greene Bowlodrome. The first of many that were scheduled to take place was the Men’s Handicap Tournament, which was held March 14.
With 30 bowlers participating, Jim Dalton came away his first Greene Bowlodrome title. Dalton, the third-seeded bowlers for the roll-offs, topped the first, second and fourth seed on his was to the 2020 crown.
Kicking off the roll-offs, fourth-seeded Cody Lyons took on No. 5 Jeff Goodrich. Lyons took the win with a final of 238-152 and went on to face Dalton in the next round.
That’s where Dalton started his three-game win streak to end as the tournament’s champion. Dalton took down Lyons 244-198 then defeated Travis Parrish in the next round 247-216.
Matching up against first-seeded Ben Covill in the finals, Dalton continued to improve his pin total in each game as he rolled a 248. Covill bowled a 207 in the title match, falling by 41 pins.
Dalton finished with a three-game total of 733 and an average of 244.
The Miller’s thank all that attended and supported the bowlers and announced that the Women’s Handicap that was scheduled for March 21 is canceled as at the alley, bar and lounge are closed.
