NEW BERLIN - Unadilla Valley School Board members met via Zoom on Wednesday night, and discussed their efforts towards keeping the community fed through almost a thousand meal deliveries a day.
According to Unadilla Valley Central School District Superintendent Robert Mackey, on Wednesday his school district supplied 964 meals to families throughout its community. Mackey said a number of school staff members prepared nearly two thousand meals, which will help efforts to feed families throughout the rest of the week.
“I think the team here has done an absolutely amazing job,” Mackey said. “All of the folks we’re feeding, and the community support, it’s absolutely incredible.”
Mackey said on March 18 the school district served approximately 850 meals between breakfast and lunch, with dozens of families coming to the school to pick up student work.
He said staff members started work on the meals at 5:30 a.m. and finished that night at 5 p.m.
