CHENANGO COUNTY - In the third coronavirus teleconference, Congressman Anthony Brindisi spoke on the virus, and invited medical professionals to discuss their challenges and next steps in the fight against COVID-19.
“New York is now the epicenter of the coronavirus, and we need to try and make sure everyone is safe and healthy,” said Brindisi. “From the shores of Lake Ontario to the Southern Tier and everything in between, we’re in this together.”
Brindisi updated listeners on some of the work going on in Washington, DC, including the recent passage of the third coronavirus stimulus package. He said millions of dollars are going to his district to help families and fight the virus, but that supplies are still needed for many hospitals in the region.
“One of the big concerns that we’re working on right now is making sure we’re getting personal protective equipment to our healthcare workers,” he added. “We want to make sure our workers can keep themselves safe and continue to save lives.”
