Chenango County - Farmers across New York are facing a challenging time as the demand for dairy plummets.
Some of the dairy farmers’ largest consumers are schools and restaurants. With schools closed, and restaurants limited, the demand from some of the top buyers has dropped dramatically.
Chenango County Farm Bureau President, Bradd Vickers, says now is the time to buy dairy.
“Buy more dairy products, milk, cheese, yogurts, etc. With schools closed and pizza restaurants reduced to take outs, an already suppressed market is even worse,” said Vickers.
Vickers states that stores should not be limiting milk and dairy purchases.
