NORWICH – With gyms in mandatory shut down, and individuals self isolating, people are finding it difficult to keep moving.

Personal Trainer Danielle Camadine, explains how to work out from home with some basic moves and with things found around the house.

“Lifting at home is about getting creative and using what’s available to you. Items you could use to replace dumbbells include soup cans, textbooks, paint cans, a bag of soil/pellets, a backpack filled with items, gallons of water, cinder blocks, bottled water cases, etc. Something is always better than nothing, so try to make it work,” said Camdadine,

Camadine breaks down different moves that can be used to work out each part of the body.

For legs, try squats and lunges which can be done with or without weight. To work out the chest, do standard push ups and/or floor chest presses. When working out the arms, find something at home that works as a weight and try alternating hammer curls and tricep kickbacks. With the same weights work on shoulders with lateral raises and overhead presses. The back can be strengthened with bent over rows, or find a heavy case of water and practice dead lifts. Finally, to work on defining the abs, bicycle crunches and forearm planks are an effective choice.
