CHENANGO COUNTY - A website focused on helping small businesses is launching Friday, and representatives said several businesses have already signed up.

According to Improve Norwich Now Co-Founder Jen Westervelt, GiveHaveNeed.com is an opportunity for businesses to receive financial assistance from community members who care. She said the website allows customers to purchase gift cards for local businesses, which generates revenue for stores that are closed as well.

“For the businesses who need additional cash flow, this can be a big benefit for them,” said Westervelt. “It’s also for caring community members who want to support their favorite businesses.”

Westervelt said the mission of Improve Norwich Now is to remove barriers and provide supports, so all community members can reach their full potential. She said the website reflects a partnership with Metis Consulting Group to help people who are struggling. She added that there is still time for businesses to put in an application, and that the website will go live on Friday.
