NEW YORK STATE - The New York State Police will finish their weeklong initiative this week, with police actively seeking out speeders and patrolling highway zones.
According to New York State Troop C Public Information Officer Aga Dembinska, from June 11 to June 17 police will target speeding and aggressive drivers during a weeklong traffic enforcement campaign named, “Speed Week.”
“Troopers will also actively patrol highway work zones and will target drivers who violate New York’s "Move Over" Law,” said Dembinska.
New York State Police Superintendent Keith M. Corlett also spoke on Speed Week and said, "Speeding is a significant safety hazard on our highways, which often results in tragic consequences. We urge all motorists to obey posted speed limits and eliminate distractions while behind the wheel. Troopers will be highly visible this week and throughout the summer to ensure all motorists are obeying posted speed limits and driving safely."
