Oxford Library Open For Business
Published: July 30th, 2020

OXFORD - The Oxford Memorial Library opened for business on June 29 and we are open our regular hours.

We would like to get the word out to folks that we are open and we have lots of new books that have arrived and are ready for check-out. Masks and social distancing are required. The library is doing everything possible to keep everyone safe and healthy.

We are doing lots of cleaning and disinfecting. Every item that is returned to the library goes into quarantine for a specified and recommended time.

Story Continues Below Adverts

Currently we are open for browsing but are not yet booking the community room or have our public computers available. We hope to offer both of these in the near future, probably by September.

Don’t forget you can place holds on books or DVDs that you would like to borrow by using our online card catalog. We will call or email you when your items come in. Check us out at http://oxfordmemoriallibrary.org.

Summer Reading is in full swing. Jess is still doing virtual story times but we also encourage the kids and teens to come visit us at the library and sign up for summer reading. Pick up your bag of goodies that includes your reading log and get busy reading.

Bring your reading log to the library to get it stamped. Lots of exciting things are happening with that. We are also doing some live programs. Sidewalk Chalk is Friday, July 31 with free sidewalk chalk and The Bubble Man will be in front of the library on Saturday, August 22 from 10 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.

Kids will receive their own bottle of bubbles while supply lasts. Be sure to check out Oxford Memorial Library Youth Services facebook page for updates.

We are open and fully staffed and excited about seeing our patrons again. For more information call us at 843-6146.
