CHENANGO COUNTY – During a press brief last week with the Governor of New York, Andrew Cuomo, he discussed the issue of bars and restaurants becoming a hotspot for non-compliance of reopening guidelines.
Cuomo stated that over the weekend of the July 30 through August 2, the State Liquor Authority and NYS Police Task Force did 3047 compliance checks at various establishments and issued 106 violations.
This means about 3.5 percent of businesses who had a compliance check received some form of violation.
"All this to say to the bars and restaurants, follow the rules. Because if you don't follow the rules, chances are, the likely hood is someone is going to be there to watch and to check and that's the way it should be," said Cuomo.
Cuomo ends the discussion on the topic by saying, "If you're not following the rules, if I were you I would be worried, and that's the way it should be. Local governments need to crack down on these whether their in New York City, Long Island, or Upstate New York."
