CHENANGO COUNTY – NY-22 District Congressman Anthony Brindisi received several awards from Commerce Chenango for leadership and bipartisanship on Thursday night, and area representatives thanked him for his continued service to Chenango County.
Stephen McAllister from the United States Chamber of Commerce presented the Spirit of Enterprise award, along with the Abraham Lincoln Leadership for America Award and Jefferson‐Hamilton Award for Bipartisanship to Brindisi for his efforts in Congress.
The ceremony was held online, and McAllister said eventually he looks forward to delivering them to Brindisi in person.
“I just wanted to take a few minutes and thank your Congressman Anthony Brindisi for the work that he is doing,” said McAllister. “He is delivering for his district and your members, and I wanted to come here and personally thank him for that.”
McAllister said each year the U.S. Chamber of Commerce keeps a scorecard on each representative. He added that they focus on votes which will help local businesses of all sizes be successful.
“Your Congressman has been leading the way in this. Not only did he win our Spirit of Enterprise award, but he has also won our leadership award, and bipartisanship award,” he said. “He has a 97 percent bipartisan score, which is one of the top scores in the entire Congress, both the House and the Senate.”
