NORWICH – Helping Hands in Norwich helped more than 350 people with needed supplies earlier this month after receiving assistance from other organizations.
Helping Hands is an organization that helps supply individuals and families with food, hygiene, and a variety of other goods at no cost with no questions asked. Their giveback nights are held on the third Thursday of each month, and are regularly reported to have more than a hundred attendees.
According to Helping Hands Executive Director Lorri Race, last week’s giveback night was a huge success with a number of different organizations, businesses, and community members stepping up to help.
Race said of the organizations that helped, a nonprofit called Run Chenango recently donated approximately $1,500 which supplied food, hygiene, and cleaning supplies for their September 17th donation night.
“It was one of my goals from the start to encourage the community to help the community,” said Race. “What a great example of community helping community.”
