Observant travelers driving between Sherburne and Norwich along State Highway 12 Wednesday morning may have noticed an American Bald Eagle perched atop a tall tree on the banks of the Chenango River. The national bird has become a less rare sight in the area in recent decades as its species recovers. They are often spotted sitting at the top of high trees near bodies of water.
