NORWICH – The last of this year’s Saturday in the Park with Chobani series takes place this weekend with food, a fundraiser, and raffle baskets.

According to Saturday in the Park with Chobani Event Organizer Mindy Chawgo, this weekend’s event will take place from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday with vendors and entertainment near the Chenango County Courthouse in Norwich.

“It has been a great year at the market, and we have had so many come and support our local vendors and gather in a safe manner,” she said. “It proves that as a community we are truly in this together and will come out of this together.”

“We appreciate how everyone has made this a successful and highly attended event and we are already looking forward to an exceptional 2021.”

Chawgo said she worked to bring the event back despite the coronavirus because of the lack of community events throughout the year. She said it’s important that people have safe events that they can attend to get out and have fun with their families during these difficult times..

She added that this final event has vendors including the Columbus Public House, Indy Acres Farms, and the Rotary.

“Saturday from 11 to 1 to Columbus Public House is doing chicken halves for seven dollars each,” said Chawgo. “You can also buy sides from Indy acres farms right at Saturday in the park at their booth.”

“In addition The Rotary is celebrating world polio day they are asking for dollar donations which is also the cost of the vaccination they will match the dollar donation as well as the Gates foundation will give two dollars per donation.”

Chawgo said each vendor will be offering a raffle basket, and every time someone purchases something from a vendor you will get a ticket to join in the free raffle and could win some amazing raffle baskets from all of the local vendors.
