CHENANGO COUNTY – The polls are scheduled to be open as early as 6 a.m. on Tuesday, and voting officials said to expect waiting times due to social distancing requirements.
According to Chenango County Democratic Party Commissioner Carol Franklin, early voting ended on Sunday and people who are interested in voting on Tuesday should expect some kind of a wait depending on their polling site.
Franklin said sites should be open on Election Day from 6 a.m. to 9 p.m., on November 3, with the exception of the Town of German voters who will vote at the Smithville polling site located at the Geneganslet Fire Station, 5273 State Highway 41, Smithville Flats, NY.
Franklin said beginning with the November 3 General Election and all future elections, Bainbridge voters will vote at the Bainbridge Town Hall, 15 North Main Street, Bainbridge

She said individuals who haven’t mailed in their absentee ballots can take them to the polling sites and they’ll be put into a secured pouch.
“If the polling site doesn’t have a separate area for individuals who can’t wear masks, we’ll go to their cars for them,” she added. “No one is ever turned away, and there are ways people can vote even if they have a temperature.”
Franklin said voters will be expected to wear masks and maintain social distancing.
