NEW BERLIN – A student that participates in a DCMO BOCES classroom located at the Unadilla Valley Central School district and a staff member have tested positive for COVID-19.
According to DCMO BOCES Superintendent Perry Dewey, the student who tested positive has not been in contact with students and staff since October 29. On Tuesday November 10, representatives of the school stated that a staff member at the DCMO BOCES Harrold Campus had also tested positive.
“At this time, our local health department is in contact with the families of the affected students and affected staff,” said Dewey. “Our school staff followed COVID-19 protocols at all times, in accordance with the district’s reopening plan, and this helped greatly limit the risk of exposure.”
“We will continue to cooperate and coordinate with the Chenango and Madison County Health Departments.”
Dewey said under the direction of the Chenango County Department of Health, no additional action is necessary at this time. He said should additional actions become necessary, school officials will immediately notify parents, faculty and staff of any changes in procedures and protocols.
