NORWICH – The Norwich City School District has chosen a new superintendent, and according to school officials, Scott Ryan is scheduled to take over the role on January 4.
According to Norwich City School District Interim Superintendent Diana Bowers, Ryan is an excellent choice for the position, and a great fit for such an important leadership position in the district. She said the search for a new superintendent began around early October of 2018.
“I think the district is very happy with the choice,” said Bowers. “Having worked with him for the last year and a half I’m sure he’s up for the job.”
“He is well prepared, and he has also been in the district for years so he understands the culture.”
Bowers said someone from outside of the district would need to take months to get a feel for how things operate, but because Ryan has been the Norwich Middle School principal for years he can get straight to work.
