CHENANGO COUNTY – The Chenango County Sheriff’s Office has announced the unveiling of its new smartphone application, which officials say should improve communication with the public.

According to Chenango County Sheriff Ernest Cutting Jr., “The Sheriff’s App will improve communication with the public we serve, enhancing our transparency with the community as well as our ability to get important public safety related communications out to the citizens of Chenango County as quickly as possible.”

Cutting said the app was developed by TheSheriffApp.com, a division of OCV, LLC. He said the app offers quick access to items of public interest and is easy to use.

“In just a few clicks, users can access features including: submit a tip, divisions, contact us, inmate and jail information, sex offenders in the area, instant push notifications, news and press releases, Chenango County’s most wanted, compliments and concerns, and more,” said Cutting. “TheSheriffApp.com specializes in smartphone app development for sheriffs’ offices and public safety organizations across the country.”
