Earlville Opera House seeks support and looks ahead

Dear Friend of the Arts,

Do you remember concerts? Do you remember the sounds of happy voices as friends meet other friends out for the evening, the faint whiff of coffee from the arts cafe, the beautiful original art work you pass on your way to the theater, the smiles of the volunteers, the faintly dusty smell of the beloved old building, the chats with seat neighbors, the dimming lights, and the anticipation of the exciting music you’re about to hear?

Those are the things I’ve missed since the Earlville Opera House suspended operations in March, but there are hopeful signs that later in 2021 we will be able to get back to the activities and people we’ve been missing.

Story Continues Below Adverts

2020 has been a really tough year for us all, but especially so for businesses and venues that depend on bringing large groups of people together in one place. The Opera House has suspended all its in-person exhibits and shows for 2020, and it looks like we will lose much of 2021 as well. That is why we come to you once again for your contributions and support, so that we can continue to pay our bills and employ our staff until the pandemic is behind us.

With your generous support we will be able to keep the Earlville Opera House alive for another year, and bring you more great art, music, theatre and workshops in the bright future! Please consider including us in your year-end giving, now more so than ever.

It’s easy to send your contribution-   just go to EarlvilleOperaHouse.com, click the menu icon in the upper right corner and click on Support the Arts.  While there, you can also enjoy virtual exhibits and performances we have posted this year. You can also mail your donation to EOH, PO 111, Earlville, NY 13322.

And remember- under the Federal CARES Act stimulus package, the IRS is allowing a one-time direct tax credit of $300 per individual or $600 per couple filing jointly, for charitable contributions.

Yours for great music and arts in central New York,

Opera House President Bruce Ward
