SOUTH NEW BERLIN – According to the Chenango County Sheriff’s Office, road crews spent hours working in the area of Martin Road and Buttermilk Falls Road in South New Berlin following a tractor trailer rollover Tuesday afternoon.

According to Chenango County Sheriff’s Office Lieutenant Joshua Gould, the accident was reported at approximate 3:45 p.m. on Tuesday, and law enforcement was on scene until nearly 10 p.m. that night.

“It was reported that a tractor trailer rolled over into a yard, and the driver was trapped inside,” said Gould. “The problem with a lot of those trucks is the load is heavy but it can move around inside tipping the truck.”

“Then to get the truck out of the ditch you have to unload everything, which can be fairly time consuming.”

Gould said the driver didn’t request medical assistance, and that no major injuries were sustained.
