NORWICH – Helping Hands Norwich’s giveback night will take place Thursday night, and event organizers are saying they’re posed to have a number of great items available thanks to generous donations earlier this week.
Helping Hands is a nonprofit composed of volunteers who help individuals by providing them donated goods. During giveback nights, people from around Chenango County bring their own items to be donated, and those who need the items are able to attend regardless of income.
According to Helping Hands Coordinator Lorri Race, tonight’s giveback night will take place at 6:30 p.m. at the Norwich Family YMCA, and it will include a variety of items including pet food, milk, eggs, bread, hygiene and cleaning items, along with Valentine bags.
“If it wasn’t for so many amazing helping hands none of this would be possible,” she said. “The community is the one that is leading the charge.”
“We have so many amazing people donating and volunteering, and we don’t take that for granted.”
