SHERBURNE - In the final game of its abbreviated boys' basketball season, Unadilla Valley avenged a buzzer-beating loss to Sherburne-Earlville the previous week taking a 58-51 win Friday night at Sherburne-Earlville High School.

Unadilla Valley (4-4) established command in the second quarter in what proved the only dominant stanza in eight total quarters of basketball against the Marauders (3-3).

Down 18-15 after one, UV's Cameron Osborne caught fire canning a pair of three-pointers, and scoring 14 of his team-high 17 points.

UV outscored the Marauders 20-9 during that eight-minute spell flipping a three-point deficit into a 35-27 halftime lead.

"They pressed us a bit, and we turned it over a bit too much in the second quarter," said Sherburne-Earlville head coach Kevin Vibbard. "That really was the biggest difference in the game."

Brock Weidman did the bulk of the scoring for Sherburne-Earlville in the second half scoring 14 of his game-high 19 points. The Marauders made a brief push closing the UV advantage to three at one point.

"We were able to cut into their lead," Vibbard said. "But we went through stretches where we struggled offensively. That was a key."
