GREENE – Greene's offense found the mark in the second quarter, and it poured on the offense the rest of the way in a 4-0 victory over Newark Valley Wednesday night.
It was the second straight shutout win for the Trojans (2-0), who, playing under coach Christine Battaglini, opened its season Tuesday night blanking a tough Afton-Harpursville unit, 2-0.
Sarah Sexton found the cage for the opening tally Wednesday at 11:18 of the second quarter getting a helper from Olivia Kennedy.
That goal set up a balanced night of scoring for Greene, who had four different players record goals, and two others notch assists.
Kennedy finished with one goal and one assist netting the Trojans' second goal late in the third quarter. Adding goals for Greene were Emma Rice and Molly Flanagan.
Tuesday, Kylee Peck picked up a goal from Greene as Kennedy added an assist, and Flanagan later scored unassisted.
Greene held a 10-1 shots advantage over A-H, and combined with its 12-1 edge over the Cardinals, hold a 22-2 overall shots advantage on the season.
