NEW BERLIN – Spotting Bainbridge-Guilford a three-goal lead, Unadilla Valley-GMU's boys' soccer team exploded for six unanswered goals in a 6-3 win over the Bobcats on Saturday.
Ryan Porter scored his second goal of the game for B-G just 2:30 into the second half for the three-goal lead before UV-G-MU turned up the offense.
Devon Fairchild ignited the UV-GMU attack tallying the first of his three goals at the seven-minute mark of the second.
Over the next seven minutes, Fairchild netted his second goal, while Drew Emrich tied the game running down a through ball, and beating the B-G keeper one-on-one.
"We showed a lot of pride coming back from being down 3-0," said UV-G-MU coach Matt Osborne. "Devon started the scoring, and we just kept the pressure on their defense."
Thirteen minutes after UV tied the game, Zan SanSoucie scored the go-ahead goal gathering a Devon Fairchild shot that rebounded off the crossbar.
UV-GMU freshman Connor Edgett added his first varsity goal with the assist coming from Gavin Bonczkowski.
"We switched up our defense a little, and took away their attack in the second half," Osborne said. "I am proud of the effort, especially in the second half."
