GREENE - The Greene boys’ soccer team continues to improve with every game.
The Trojans dominated on offense, and also stretched their shutout - and winning - streak to four blanking Walton 6-0 on Tuesday night.
Scout McCumiskey finished with a hat trick, and put Greene (4-1) on the board just 19 seconds into the game with Cooper Klumpp registering the assist.
“Scout played through an injury today,” said Greene coach Rick Tallman. “He led us in scoring, and commanded the offense. It was a solid showing.”
The Trojans spread the wealth on offense with Klumpp adding a goal, as did Jonny Lee and Terriek Brown. Luke DeJager, Aidan Kiefer, and Trent Rapp also figured in the scoring notching assists.
While the offense flourished putting up 39 shots and 12 cornerkicks, Tallman was quick to point out the defensive exploits of Kiefer.
“(Aidan) heads up our defense, and (the defense) has bottled up the fourth straight team,” Tallman said.
Greene plays at Windsor April 5 in a return matchup. The Black Knights are the lone team to top Greene this season.
