Bainbridge-Guilford 13, Deposit-Hancock 8
BAINBRIDGE - Bainbridge-Guilford’s dominance in the running game paid dividends in the fourth quarter on Friday.
The Bobcats’ Garrett Ives gave is club a 13-8 lead with 7:24 remaining the game, and that score stood up in a five-point win over Deposit-Hancock.
B-G amassed a 319-89 total yardage advantage for the game, but the Eagles clung to an 8-7 lead through three quarters on the strength of Ethan Hunt’s 23-yard first-quarter TD reception from Tyler Santamaria.
“Great defensive effort, and a gutty performance,” said B-G coach Israel Lorimer. “The o-line and d-line were outstanding. Ethan Gregory had a great game at defensive tackle with two sacks and four tackles for a loss.”
B-G cut into the deficit early in the second quarter, when, Michael Stevens hit paydirt on a 16-yard TD run.
The successful point-after had the host club within one point until Ives’ fourth-quarter score.
