NORWICH – Friends of the Museum District, part of the Norwich Building Tomorrow Foundation, has announced the creation of their Curb Appeal Matching Grant Program.

This program was created to encourage the revitalization of the District neighborhood by assisting property owners and residents with exterior improvements.

Eligible properties located within the Museum District, as designated by the City of Norwich, within Phase 1 of the project scope are eligible to apply. This area is defined as Rexford Street from the North Broad Street intersection to the Silver Street intersection. Residential property owners along with owners of commercial/mixed-use structures located within this area are eligible.

The program is intended to assist with projects that improve the exterior appearance of the property from the street. Successful applicants are eligible to receive up to 50 percent of the total cost of their improvements, with the maximum grant amount capped at $5,000.

The scope of work must include improvement to one or more of the following: Architectural Details (addition, repair and/or restoration); Exterior painting and/or cleaning; Doors, windows and shutters; Landscaping and sidewalks; Decorative entrance features and Aesthetic fencing.

Grant funding is provided by the Norwich Building Tomorrow Foundation. The Curb Appeal Program will be administered by the Friends of the Museum District Design Committee.
