Man Who Shot Pistol At An Occupied Vehicle Faces Indictment

CHENANGO COUNTY – Four individuals are facing indictments for crimes including firing a 9mm pistol through another person’s rear window, assaulting children, robbing a person using a knife, and kidnapping.

Delos E. Decker III was charged with second-degree criminal possession of a weapon, a class C felony, first-degree reckless endangerment, a class D felony, and third-degree criminal mischief, a class E felony.

According to his indictment, at approximately 5:57 p.m. on March 19, 2021 while in the intersection of County Road 30 and State Highway 41 in the Town of Afton, Decker fired a Sig Sauer P365 9mm caliber semi-automatic pistol into the rear window of an occupied 2000 Chevrolet Tahoe.

The indictment states that the bullet entered through the rear window of the vehicle, passed by the victim’s head, and out through the front windshield causing approximately $859.33 worth of damage and grave risk of death.
