CHENANGO – DCMO BOCES students representing area schools and career and multiple technical education programs, will speak at the Talent Pipeline and Population Recovery Strategies Summit to be held on May 12, 2021 by Commerce Chenango.
The panel comprised of five students, will share their perspectives on barriers to accessing local employment and attracting young workers. Panel moderator and presenter, DCMO BOCES District Superintendent Perry T. Dewey commented on the student participation by saying, "The voice of our students carry a powerful message and opens doors for business and education to collaborate to identify solutions to attract and retain our young in our region.”
Participating in the student panel are: Quinn Furner, a Computer Technology student from Sherburne-Earlville, Patrick Mayhood, a Carpentry student from Unadilla Valley, Daniel Hagenbuch, a Carpentry student from Norwich, Angel Vasques, a Visual Communications student from Unadilla Valley, and Troy Marshman, a Conservation student from Oxford Academy. The panel discussion precedes a presentation by Perry based on research from the successful Career Destinations Program implementation.
